PicoAce
Overview
PicoAce is designed for ultra precision grinding of hard and brittle materials of up to 305 mm in diameter as a development of the Tetraform C. It has a closed loop structure and X – Z – Theta axes of motion. Slideways, lead screws and the ultraprecision rotary table are hydrostatic whilst the grinding spindle utilises ultraprecision air bearings.
Download PDFPicoAce is designed to have the high static and dynamic stiffness and low motion errors essential for achieving surface finishes in the nanometre range and low sub surface damage. 0.01 um resolution encoders and a Seimens 840D controller also enable PicoAce to generate optically smooth surface forms.
The pyramid like frame of PicoAce allows a large and accessible working zone without compromising machine stiffness.
